MLB THE SHOW LEAGUE

I guess we can try and keep all of our league stuff here.

I think we need an official list of who is actually going to do this.

Roughly, I think we have...

1. Compton
2. Ecto
3. Fin
4. Ecto Friend 1
5. Ecto Friend 2
6. Zubaz4fans
7. Duke (Maybe)
8. Jim (Maybe)

We can do it with 6 or 8, so please post here if you are officially going to do this. After you do that please post if you would prefer a round robin style of league or a division style league. Lastly, please post if you would like to draft your own team or we can randomly come up with an order to pick a current MLB team you would like to play with.

I would prefer round robin if we only ave 6 people, but if we get all 8 then I would rather do division.

As much fun as drafting our own team would be it could take forever to do and get everyone together at the same time, so I say we randomly select a draft order and get to choose our MLB teams in the order we are selected.

As for teams, I think drafting would be fun, but if we decide to do existing teams, I say we either are limited to Non-Playoff teams or come up with something like that

So if Jim gets the game or Duke wants to do the league then we are set with two divisions of 4 teams each.

If we can get definitive answers from Jim and Duke tomorrow then I will set everything up and let you all know how it works.

I am hoping the online setup has a way to randomize the order of teams we get to pick.

Obviously, since the game came out I think we would all like a little bit of time to get used to it.

I am thinking we can pick our teams either Sunday the 14th or the following Sunday the 21st, giving every one enough time to play with teams they may want to pick and get used to the game.

OKAY, so it looks like we have a few more people who want to do this, and I think the more the better.

Lots of choices here, so please take the time to read everything so we can all come to an agreement on the settings for the league.

First, here is the new list of people.

Unfortunately, when I create the league I have to pick what team I am going to use right there, so once we get everyone in the league I will use this website (http://www.random.org/lists/) to determine the order in which we can choose our teams on here. When I send you the invitation to the league it will ask which team you want to use and you can then select the team you have chosen. This is for bragging rights only so please no accusations of me creating a bullshit list. This will be competitive but it is for fun, so no fucking conspiracy theories please.

Now, the more complicated decisions we will have to make is the number of games we will play. There will be two divisions, a minimum number for 4 teams in each and a maximum of 6 in one and 5 in another. The game determines which league you are in once you join, so I have no control over that.

We have the option of how many games per series we want to play, how many series we want to play against each division opponent and how many series against each non division opponent.

I think games per series should be 1 or 3. I think series per. division opponent should be 2 or 3 and based on that series against non-division opponent should be 1-2.

We also get the great option of setting how many days we want to allow for a series to be complete. I think we should choose the maximum in 5 or 7 days (it depends on how many games per series we will choose.) It will take longer to complete the league but with everyones different work schedule I think it would be most fair, and much easier, to allow the maximum amount of time.

If everyone could post how many games they would like for each, that would be great. Using this format would make it easier for me to figure out what the groups wants.

Games per Series: 1
Series per division opponent: 2
Series per NON-division opponent: 1
Series duration (in days): 5

In a 10 person league that would mean 13 games over 9 weeks. (If we chose 3 days per series with that amount of games it would be 13 games over 5 weeks)

Please post any addition questions here. Hopefully we can get a concrete list of people who want in and can get this thing going soon.

Finally, in order for me to be able to invite you to the league you need to be on my buddy list for MLB THE SHOW. It is seperate from the PSN friend list. I am already friends with ECTO and just sent an invite to finlandia. Everyone else needs to sign into the MLB THE SHOW online network before I can invite you, so please let me know when you have done that so I can add you.
